Instead, Snapdragon X Elite’s Oryon CPU clusters run at different maximum clocks to offer a combination of good single threaded and multithreaded performance. Arm CPUs traditionally featured weak vector execution, since handing throughput bound workloads would be difficult in a smartphone or tablet power budget. Intel’s Redwood Cove similarly stands to benefit from wider vectors, though Meteor Lake’s hybrid core setup prevents it from supporting AVX-512.
