Reddit is back online after a brief outage


The company told Engadget that an update caused the issues.

"An update we made caused some instability," a company spokesperson said. As to what that update was, we don't yet know, but it was probably a standard tweak to the site that just had some bugs on board. Meanwhile, Downdetector's status page (above) showed a sharp upward trend in problems starting at around 11:20 AM ET.
