Robot scans rare library books at 2.5k pages per hour
Digitizing rare manuscripts is getting increasingly hands-off.
After two years of research, archivists at the University of Tulsa’s McFarlin Library recently decided to try out a machine called the Treventus ScanRobot 2.0. Small holes in the triangular plate then generate a vacuum to softly pull pages to either side of the camera’s prism. The PopSci team has tested hundreds of products and spent thousands of hours trying to find the best gear and gadgets you can buy.
