Roro raises $1.6M for 3D digital dollhouse game

A team of gaming veterans has raised $1.6 million for a new game studio named Roro, which is making a 3D digital dollhouse game.

Led by CEO William Sampson, a Toca Boca and Stardoll alum, and cofounded by Robin Flodin, formerly of EG7, along with Kristoffer Jelbring, the former tech director at Mojang, the Roro team boasts over 50 years of combined experience. In an industry often dominated by conventional themes, Roro intends to carve a niche for players seeking positive, non-toxic creative outlets in open-ended gaming experiences. Daniela Sjunnesson, investment lead at node.vc, said in a statement, “Roro truly captivates us, not just for its vision but also for its roots here in Sweden, as we are among the best regions in the world creating games for young audiences.”
