The rumor comes from an anonymous source who reached out to the Upgrade podcast hosted by Myke Hurley and Jason Snell. Apple is working on a higher refresh rate LCD display with a new liquid motion panel fixed at around 90Hz. Analyst Ross Young previously reported that the entire iPhone 17 lineup will feature ProMotion displays with support for 120Hz refresh rates.
