Rush University to Host Colonoscopy Study Using Apple Vision Pro

Cosmo Pharmaceuticals will begin the first-ever human usability study that integrates Medtronic's GI Genius™ AI module with Apple Vision Pro.

– The study, set to launch in July 2025 at Rush University Medical Center, will evaluate the use of spatial computing to deliver real-time, AI-powered insights to physicians during live colonoscopy procedures. The software application, designed by Cosmo, will allow physicians wearing the Apple Vision Pro headset to see critical data and AI-generated highlights from the GI Genius™ module overlaid within their real-world view. It will be led by Dr. Irving Waxman, a renowned figure in the field who serves as the James R. Lowenstine Professor and Chief of the Division of Digestive Diseases & Nutrition at Rush.
