Samsung unveils world’s first ultra-small solid-state battery

Developed by Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the small-sized solid-state battery for wearable devices boasts the energy density of 200Wh/L.

Samsung claimed that it could develop the miniaturized battery by exploiting its multi-layer ceramic capacitors production technology, which alternately prints thin layers of materials and stacks them. The process prevents wrinkling issues observed in conventional lithium-ion batteries while enabling minimal volume change during charging, eliminating the need for extra space, reported The Korea Times.
