A leaker with a decent track record cites supply-chain sources as saying the upcoming Apple device will use a thinner and more advanced display than used in any of Samsung’s own products … That was a problem it asked its display partners to solve, and Samsung was reported to have done this to Apple’s satisfaction back in February. As the touch sensor is built into the screen [rather than being a separate layer], the thickness is reduced by about 19% and the weight is lighter than the Z-fold parts.
