Sandbox VR reveals Stranger Things: Catalyst, a fully immersive experience

Sandbox VR announced today that it is creating and launching a new immersive location-based VR experience. This one, created in collaboration with Netflix, is set in the Stranger Things universe, called Stranger Things: Catalyst. It’s set to launch later this year, to coincide with the launch of the fifth season of the Stranger Things show. […]

Sandbox’s locations use motion-tracking technology and haptics that track the player’s entire body, allowing them to enter the setting of Stranger Things in a physical space. Steve Zhao, Sandbox VR founder and CEO, said in a statement, “The success of our previous Netflix collaborations has shown us the incredible potential of bringing beloved content into virtual reality. Our technology will allow fans to physically step into the story they’ve watched unfold over the past seasons, creating thrilling memories with friends as they face the horrors of the Upside Down together.”
