SGNL is the brainchild of Scott Kriz (CEO) and Erik Gustavson (CPO), who had previously co-founded another ID access management company called Bitium. The breakthrough for that came from another ex-Googler called Atul Tulshibagwale, who was the inventor of CAEP(the continuous access evaluation protocol), which is what underpins SGNL’s platform. There are multiple large companies doing more around zero-standing privilege, including CyberArt and SailPoint, alongside a number of startups; but that isn’t deterring investors.
