Smart string light showdown: Nanoleaf versus Lifx

Nanoleaf and Lifx’s smart outdoor string lights take that trendy Edison bulb look to the next level.

Both are compatible with all major smart home platforms, so I can set the lights on schedules, control them with voice commands, and have them turn on when the patio door opens using a contact sensor. A handful were created just for the string lights; my favorites were Sunset Sky, which cycled through warm reds and oranges, and Twilight, with crisp whites and soft grays. Lumens: 50 lumens per bulb Light: Full-color RGBWIC and tunable white light (1500k to 9000K) Color Rendering Index: 90 Weather rating: Wet location rated / -10 C (14F) “minimum starting temperature” Connectivity: Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) Dimmable: Yes (voice control or app) Music Sync: Yes, using Lifx app Compatibility: Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings Lifetime: 25,000 hours Length: 24 ft / 12 bulbs, can join three sets together for 72 ft
