Qualcomm's next-gen mobile chip for top-tier Android phones isn't called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is likely to power the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and almost every Android phone in 2025, will be a “generative AI powerhouse,” according to Qualcomm. The major star of the list is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is expected to launch in late January, as was teased during the OneUI 7 reveal that we reported on last month. Officially, Qualcomm says that “in the coming weeks” manufacturers poised to launch devices from “ASUS, Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO, RealMe, Samsung, Vivo, Xiaomi, and more.”
