Sony Lays Off 30% Of Days Gone Developer Bend Studio After Canceling Live-Service Game


In a statement, Sony confirmed reports of the layoffs and said the studio is shifting focus to its next project.

Sony has laid off about 30% of the staff at Bend Studio, the first-party developer of the PlayStation 4 open-world game Days Gone. As the team shifts focus to its next project, we’ve made strategic changes to better position the studio for long-term success. The latter studio was closed before it could ship its first game, after being founded by Call of Duty veterans Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell in 2020.
