Sony has backtracked on its plans to enforce mandatory PSN linking for Helldivers 2 players on Steam, following backlash.

Sony has backtracked on its plans to enforce mandatory PSN linking for Helldivers 2 players on Steam, following immense backlash from its community. Resharing Sony's post, Arrowhead CEO and Helldivers 2 creative director Johan Pilestedt said he was impressed by players' "willpower... and ability to collaborate" over the past few days. In a follow up reply, Pilestedt stated the Helldivers 2 team was now "building systems to replace" the moderation functionality PSN linking would have assisted with.
