Square Enix celebrating Chrono Trigger anniversary with new projects, sparking re-release hopes

Square Enix is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its iconic RPG Chrono Trigger with multiple projects that "go beyond…

The beloved SNES game, released on 11th March 1995, is described in a new social post from Square Enix as a "timeless masterpiece that transcends generations and is still talked about today". Perhaps the most obvious would be a new re-release of the game for current consoles - as while it's available on PC via Steam and on mobile devices (iOS and Android), it's not on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or Switch. The time-travelling adventure sees the titular Chrono joined by iconic characters like Frog, Robo and Lucca in a quest to save the world across multiple ages.
