Stanford Medicine physician uses augmented reality to streamline data visualization during surgery.

The technology, Apple Vision Pro, is a headset that provides a form of human-computer interaction — it allows its wearer to navigate their surroundings using real-time visual data in combination with virtual elements. Augmented reality is making waves as an innovative mode of entertainment, education and virtual multitasking — one can, for instance, use the goggles to watch movies, chat with faraway friends, surf the web or engage in a host of other digital content. “For now, we hope that this first demonstration will help establish the tool as something surgeons and proceduralists can use to reduce barriers to quickly and easily review and manipulate intraprocedural data, increasing efficiency and clinician enjoyment.
