About the Role At sync., we're not just building video generation and manipulation models - we're changing how the world creates and interacts with videos. We hit $1M ARR in <6 months, and now we're looking for a technical powerhouse to catapult us to $100M+. We're seeking a polyglot hyper engineer with the leadership chops to take full control of our technical direction and execution. You'll have the autonomy to build and scale our systems at breakneck speed, while our founders focus on explosive business growth, and unlocking new capabilities through the models we train. Key Responsibilities - Architect, build, and scale our entire technical infrastructure to support 100M+ users in the next 2 years - Lead and grow a world-class engineering team, instilling a culture of speed, excellence, and continuous learning - Make rapid, high-impact technical decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability - Implement cutting-edge technologies and practices across our full stack to maintain our competitive edge - Collaborate with the CEO to align technical execution with business strategy and market opportunities - Drive innovation in our core AI/ML models, data infrastructure, and user-facing products What We're Looking For - Polyglot hyper-engineer with deep expertise across multiple languages, frameworks, and technologies - Proven track record of building and scaling systems rapidly in a high-growth environment (ideally $1M to $100M+ ARR) - Experience leading and growing engineering teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments - Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, particularly in computer vision and video processing - Ability to make quick, sound technical decisions and pivot rapidly based on new information or market feedback - Exceptional problem-solving skills with a bias towards action and rapid iteration - Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders - Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building products that delight users Ideal Background - Founded or was an early engineering lead at a successful startup that scaled rapidly - Experience with YCombinator or similar high-growth startup environments - Track record of successful open-source contributions or thought leadership in the tech community - Broad and deep technical knowledge spanning frontend, backend, DevOps, data engineering, and ML/AI What We Offer - Significant equity stake and competitive salary - Full autonomy over technical decisions and team building - Opportunity to define the future of video creation and manipulation - Work directly with the CEO in a true partnership to scale the company - Build and lead a world-class engineering team from the ground up - Access to cutting-edge AI/ML resources and research Our goal is to keep the team lean, hungry, and shipping fast.
