Tech bosses to testify over child safety concerns


Senators say Meta, X, TikTok, Discord and Snap are not doing enough to protect children online.

Tech bosses including Meta's Mark Zuckerberg and Linda Yaccarino of X are due to testify in Washington today, as concerns rise about children's mental health and safety online. Ms Yaccarino, as well as Discord boss Jason Citron and Snap chief Evan Spiegel, received subpoenas - a legal order - before agreeing to appear at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. None have stopped the clamour from politicians and the public for big tech firms to be held up to further scrutiny however - a fact some of the biggest names in technology are probably about to be reminded of.
