TechCrunch Minute: Beware the smiling robot with living skin


Researchers have been exploring the idea of robots with living, human skin — and they’ve come up with some pretty unsettling results.

Every big social network and internet platform has been hyping new AI features, so it’s probably no surprise that LinkedIn is moving in that direction,… In its latest earnings report, Match Group acknowledged growing pains for its dating app Tinder, where the paid user base shrank for the sixth quarter… As you can see, the results were pretty creepy looking — or as Devin put it, “absolute nightmare fuel.” But in principle, it seems to work: This could be a viable method for attaching living skin to a robotic undercarriage.
