TechCrunch Minute: Lyft Price Lock could be an affordable alternative to surge pricing


Lyft is working on a feature that could help eliminate the pain of surge pricing. But you’ll have to pay a subscription fee to use it.

A group of whistleblowers accused OpenAI of requiring its employees to sign illegally restrictive non-disclosure agreements, or… OpenAI rival Anthropic released its newest generative AI model this week, Claude 3.5 Sonnet. So it could be particularly useful for riders who rely on Lyft for their daily commute; on the other hand, it’s not so useful for someone who’s leaving a giant concert and hoping to avoid a hefty price tag when they try to call a car at the same time as everyone else.
