Tesla recalls 1.8 million cars over hood issue

A fix is coming via an over-the-air update.

The issue has to do with the cars' software failing to detect an unlatched hood, Reuters reported on Tuesday. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an unlatched hood can "fully open and obstruct the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash." The latest recall affects the majority of Tesla cars on the road, but it's not as big as the recall from last December, which affected more than 2 million Teslas, which was basically all of them at the time.
