Tesla Recalls 239,000 Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Issues
The computer hardware issue impacts 2024-25 Model 3 and Model S vehicles, as well as 2023-25 Model X and Model Y vehicles.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s filing, when one of the impacted vehicles powers up, a reverse current may cause a shorting failure on the car’s computer board. Tesla began rolling out an over-the-air (OTA) software update on Dec. 18, 2024, to fix the defect, and all owners impacted are set to receive notification letters on or shortly after Jan. 8, 2025.
