The market is saturated with machines at different price points and power levels; I’ve been testing and reviewing Chromebooks for years and know what you should be looking for, and what you can expect out of these laptops. As for when to avoid Chromebooks, the answer is simple: If you rely heavily on a specific native application for Windows or a Mac, chances are you won’t find the exact same option on a ChromeOS device. We haven’t tested the 2024 model yet, so I can’t confirm the battery life; Acer claims 10 hours, a figure that’ll surely dip if you’re doing more than watching videos or casual web browsing.
