The Design Space of Wikis
An exploration of the design space of wikis.
These make is easy to rename pages without breaking links, but generally have to be hidden from the user (e.g.: requires a WYSIWYG editor and a database). The other approach, implemneted by Ikiwiki and Gitit, is that the app “owns” the repository and can make commits on behalf of the user by providing a web interface. In my experience of using Jekyll as a personal wiki, I found that I really only looked at the rendered output when writing math notes, to ensure the TeX was correct.
