While Independents and Democrats liked it more than Republicans — VP candidate Tim Walz has made it an economic talking point this election season — nearly half of GOP-leaning voters were supportive. Faced with these challenges, a regular business would likely lower costs (and potentially quality) or raise prices on the students who are ineligible for free or reduced meals.
