The extremely online life of the American teenager


And they’re all on YouTube.

Nearly half of US teens are “almost constantly” online, though the platforms they spend their time on vary significantly, according to a new Pew survey. And 73 percent of them go on YouTube every day, making it by far the most popular platform for teenage users. In fact, the only app that has experienced a rise in popularity is WhatsApp, which is now used by 23 percent of teenagers.
