The Green Bubble Nightmare Is Over, Apple Messages Now Support RCS
The developer beta is the only way to solve the Android vs. Apple feud for now, but it’s excellent news for the future.
Carriers have been steadily rolling out RCS support on the backend, and plenty of iPhone-wielding folks have already reported decade-long feuds being solved due to Apple acquiescing to the existence of the messaging protocol. Group chats will no longer be butchered and broken as friends and family attempt to find common ground, such as who will bring the dessert to the gathering. The majors, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, are the only carriers rolling it out, likely in a bid to help out those developers targeting apps for iOS 18.
