It is partly because seekers of the truth expect the same in others.” James Fallows of The Atlantic praised Glass’s retraction, terming it “a superb unraveling of Daisey’s inventions” and an “exploration of real journalistic values and the difference between fact and metaphor.” Soon enough, the criticism hardened.
