It isn't unreasonable to think that might be the case; Android brands love borrowing features from the iPhone, as evidenced from the half-baked Dynamic Island clones you get with ColorOS. Chinese brands in particular have pushed the boundaries of imaging tech over the last two years, and hardware buttons to make the cameras easier to control would go a long way — at least in my own use case.
