The One Part of the Vision Pro That Apple Doesn’t Want You to See


Apple’s latest series of Vision Pro demos carefully obscures one important hardware feature.

The pricey product, which could be a giant bust or mark the beginning of an new era of spatial computing, was placed firmly on the heads of a first round of tech journalists and influencers earlier this week. “Everyone wants light fluffy headsets without battery sets,” says Jeremy Bailenson, a longtime VR researcher and founding director of Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab. Nearly every Meta Quest experience I’ve had involves standing: Multi-player gaming, punching the air in a fitness app, or peering down at a virtual world map and then zooming in on a vacation location.
