The Pixelbot 3000 turns simple AI prompts into Lego mosaic masterpieces
It’s not a shortcut if you designed the machine.
Although technically impressive when it debuted eight years ago, Jason Allemann’sBricasso required a complicated process where mosaic designs had to be manually created, printed on paper, and then scanned by the machine’s camera. The YouTube channel Creative Mindstorms used some custom code and AI, so generating a Lego mosaic requires one simple input. The prompt is sent to OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, which the underlying code requests as being generated in a cartoon style to produce a simplified image that’s 1024 x 1024 pixels in size.
