The Story of Max, a Real ProgrammerSun 29 June 2025 Tagged: software This is a story about Imagebin. Imagebin is the longest-lived software project that I still maintain.
It has a few quality-of-life features, like automatically creating the directories if they don't already exist, and supporting multiple files in a single upload, But nothing that should make it twice as big. Max didn't need a templating engine, he just wrote HTML and put his code inside<?php tags. We make a grand effort to write a simpler, better, modern replacement, and it ends up twice as complicated and worse?
