People who are familiar with emulation may think of Redump as collections of disc images online, but they’re really a metadata database for CD-ROM preservation focused primarily on games. Its large feature set does mean that there are times when DiscImageCreator can come in handy for something specialized, but at the moment I don’t recommend it as a primary tool. Redumper has plans to add support for ring-based copy protection such as Ring Protech in the future, but it’s poorly-supported at the moment; again, closed-source tools such as Alcohol 120% are necessary to handle these discs.
