The world's 'fastest' train that reaches a chilling 279mph
The new trains are significantly faster than China's CR400 Fuxing high-speed trains, which operate at a speed of 217mph.

Mr Wang shared that in order to achieve the unprecedented operational speed of 400 kilometres per hour, engineers improved traction capacity, dynamic performance, and pantograph systems, reports the China Science and Technology Daily. Seven innovative technologies, including sound-absorbing materials and optimised aerodynamic shapes, reduce cabin noise by 2 decibels, offering passengers a quieter and more pleasant ride.
