Apple has not provided a reason for the closure, but the report said the Parkland shopping mall where the store is located was rebranded as Intime City following a management change, so perhaps that was a factor in the company's decision. Earlier this month, MacRumors was first to report that Apple was planning to permanently close its Partridge Creek store, just outside of Detroit, Michigan, and now the company has announced a closure date for the location. The firmware is only available to developers and public beta testers at the current time, and a device running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 is required to install the update.
