These Tech Firms Won’t Tell Us If They Will Help Trump Deport Immigrants


The Intercept asked data companies that store personal data if they will help Trump conduct mass deportations. Few had anything to say.

To see whether corporate America will support Trump’s promised anti-immigrant operation, The Intercept reached out to data and technology companies that hold immense quantities of personal information or sellanalytic software useful to an agency like ICE. The list includes obscure data brokers that glean intimate personal details from advertising streams, mainstream cellular phone providers, household-name social networks, predictive policing firms, and more. At the end of the day, we support the Constitution and the democratically-elected governing bodies having the right to enact laws at the will of the people.”When asked again if Flock would engage in a contract pertaining to mass deportations, spokesperson Josh Thomas replied, “We don’t entertain hypotheticals.”
