TikTok CEO thanks Trump in video message after Supreme Court upholds ban

The Biden administration said it would leave enforcement of the ban to President-elect Donald Trump.

TikTok CEO Shou Chew on Friday thanked President-elect Donald Trump for supporting the company's efforts to remain available to U.S. users. In a video posted to TikTok, his first public statement since the Supreme Court upheld a law banning the app just hours earlier, Chew praised Trump's recent support. Chew continued: “We are grateful and pleased to have the support of a president who truly understands our platform — one who has used TikTok to express his own thoughts and perspectives, connecting with the world and generating more than 60 billion views of his content in the process.”
