If the option is specified as an empty string (which is typically the case on monochrome displays), disabled elements are drawn with the normal foreground color but they are dimmed by drawing them with a stippled fill pattern. Value is a string containing zero or more of the characters n, s, e, or w. Each letter refers to a side (north, south, east, or west) that the content window will to, as per the grid geometry manager. Type specifies the form in which the selection is to be returned (the desired “target” for conversion, in ICCCM terminology), and should be an atom name such as STRING or FILE_NAME; see the Inter-Client Communication Conventions Manual for complete details.
