X.com "says it's ending business operations in Brazil effective immediately," reports Engadget, "but the service will remain available to users in the country." Rather than comply, X has opted to end its local operations "to protect the safety of our staff." X owner Elon Musk claimed that the demand "would require us to break (in secret) Brazilian, Argentinian, American and international law."
