You define the summit of Teide as your “target,” jump to the app’s day and time of moonset, and primarily search for a camera position reachable by foot. The trick is finding that sweet spot: a balance where you can still pull some detail out of the landscape in post without everything being a noisy mess, and where the moon doesn’t just show up as a giant white blob. Uli picked up the camera he’d set up the night before, and then we headed back down to the warm coast for a well-deserved late breakfast—though not without quickly grabbing our laptops first to offload the sequences.
