Transcend today announced the launch of the ESD420, a portable SSD that includes a magnetic attachment designed to work with MagSafe iPhones. Transcend says that it offers military-grade drop resistance so that it can withstand shocks and falls, and it is meant to match the iPhone with gold and space gray color options available. Last week, it emerged that Chinese display manufacturer BOE was aggressively ramping up its OLED production capacity for future iPhone models as part of a plan to recapture a major role in Apple's supply chain.
