BMW, the largest automotive exporter by value from the U.S., remains committed to future EV investments despite attacks from White House advisor Peter Navarro.

GREER — BMW Manufacturing doubled down on electric vehicle plans for the future, touting its economic development record in South Carolina despite a recent attack by a White House official on national TV. In the CNBC segment, Navarro connected BMW's use of overseas-made components in Spartanburg to fellow Trump adviser Elon Musk, saying the billionaire Telsa CEO "wants the cheap foreign parts," for his car company's electric vehicles, "and we understand that." Nathalie Bauters, head of BMW Manufacturing's corporate communications, issued a statement April 8 citing the company's economic record and urging officials to reach a transatlantic trade agreement.
