In the CNBC segment, Navarro connected BMW's use of overseas-made components in Spartanburg to fellow Trump adviser Elon Musk, saying the billionaire Telsa CEO "wants the cheap foreign parts," for his car company's electric vehicles, "and we understand that." Nathalie Bauters, head of BMW Manufacturing's corporate communications, issued a statement April 8 citing the company's economic record and urging officials to reach a transatlantic trade agreement.
