Trump to block the government and military from buying EVs | Trump's attack on clean vehicles to be bigger than thought, says report.


The incoming administration plans to end EV tax credits. Federal funding for charging infrastructure will be clawed back, and fuel efficiency rules rolled back to 2019.

While the Trump team plan is meant to boost US auto manufacturing versus imports, a key tool in forcing more local EV production is also not long for this world. Other rules and regulations meant to protect the public are also set to be scrapped, including one that currently requires all automakers to report to the government when one of their vehicles crashes while operating under partial automation, such as Tesla Autopilot.
