Trump's EV Rollback Could Cost Taxpayers $1B
The federal government will lose $225 million just from the depreciation hit of selling 25,000 government-owned EVs.
But rather than saving the $300 million, the new policy reversal could reportedly cost United States taxpayers an additional $1 billion. A GSA employee, who chose not to be named because they aren’t allowed to speak with the media, told E&E that decommissioning those chargers could cost around $50-$100 million. He started writing about cars on his own blog to express his opinions when no one else would publish them back in 2015, and eventually turned it into a full-time career.
