Twitch starts refunding subs to permabanned channels following Dexerto investigation
Twitch is refunding subscriptions to banned streamers following a Dexerto investigation and the threat of a looming civil suit.
The Amazon-owned platform said that these situations were “edge cases” but confirmed that all banned streamers have a “grace period” before their subs are canceled. In the time since, subscribers have begun to receive refunds or had their ongoing subscriptions canceled, but it’s not clear how many users will be getting money back. Kherkher doesn’t believe Twitch’s “grace period” reasoning would fly, adding that this situation is “between negligence on the low end and affirmative fraud on the other.
