Two landmark child safety bills - KOSA and COPPA 2.0 - passed the U.S. Senate with major implications for gaming UGC and advertising.

The United States Senate has passed two bills that could have major impacts on how large tech platforms, including games, treat minors under 16. Key figures in the Republican-controlled U.S. House have expressed interest in taking up these bills and passing them before end of this Congress’ term in January. This “duty of care” includes restricting self-harm, online bullying, sexual exploitation and predatory marketing practices.
