Uber finally launches feature to prioritize women's safety

Thanks to a new feature coming first to these three US cities, women riders can choose to be matched with women drivers - and vice versa.

The change has been widely requested among women riders and drivers, according to Uber's press release. Women Drivers will be among the options, like UberX, Green, or XL, available when ordering an Uber on-demand. Women Rider Preference originally launched in Saudi Arabia in 2019 and has since expanded to 40 countries.
