Uber probed by US regulator over subscription plan

The ride-hailing giant says it received inquiries from the FTC about Uber One cancellation procedures.

It follows a Bloomberg report saying the US consumer watchdog was investigating the ride-hailing giant over the enrolment and cancellation procedures of the service. The FTC reached out to Uber with a proposal for settling the investigation and the company has since written back with a counter offer, according to Bloomberg. The new rule, which has been challenged by different business groups, would force companies to make subscription sign-ups and cancellations equally straightforward.
