Oliver Smith as the Interim Engineering Director for Ubuntu Desktop at Canonical is out with a new status update on Ubuntu 24.10 development and related ambitions. Ubuntu 24.10 has also been seeing the GNOME 47 packages land, updates to seeded apps, Microsoft EntraID authentication with Authd was brought to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, and there is work on making the KDE Plasma desktop available for Ubuntu Core Desktop in Snap form.
