Ukraine exposes major Russian disinformation network aiming to discredit top general Syrskyi


Russia’s special services have created fake accounts of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi on social media to spread false information about the situation at the front and the army chief himself, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported on Telegram on Feb. 20.

Russia is promoting destructive messages through a network of fake accounts of Syrskyi on Facebook, Instagram, X, and Telegram created by Russian special services. The Center noted that the information warfare units of the Russian special services have significantly intensified not only in Ukraine but also in NATO member states.
